Radiohead released news on Monday about a 21-date tour in 2027. The band will hit Australia and Japan for the first time in 15 and 19 years. Fans Down Under will get 16 shows across three cities, while Japan will get five performances in Saitama.
The news broke on Instagram on Sept. 7. Weeks of hints had been scattered at Japan’s Summer Sonic festival and on billboards throughout Tokyo.
This marks the band’s comeback after their 2025 European shows, which were their first proper tour dates since 2018. Their last Australian gig was November 2012. Japan last saw them headline in October 2008.
Guitarist Ed O’Brien spoke with Rolling Stone in March about plans to visit “a different continent” each year and play around 20 shows. “No more, no less,” O’Brien said. “We want to give absolutely everything each night. We do not ever want it to be like we’re going through the motions or we’re having to run on empty.”
Perth’s RAC Arena launches things on May 3 with four shows. Then the band heads to Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne for six concerts. Sydney’s Afterpay Arena gets six performances, wrapping the Australian leg on June 1. Five shows at GMO Arena in Saitama close things out between June 8 and June 13. Tokyo concerts seemed possible based on the hints, but none were announced.
Each ticket includes a $2 charity donation split between Greenpeace Australia Pacific and the Australian Marine Conservation Society. The band will match every donation.
The band hasn’t released a studio album since 2016’s A Moon Shaped Pool. The band’s final London concert of 2025 set an attendance record at the O2 Arena, drawing 22,355 people. All info about the Australian and Japanese shows is on the band’s website.
