Kobe Edge Kashima for Fourth Straight Win! Kashiwa Come from Behind to Beat Kyoto [Summary: MEIJI YASUDA J1 Matchweek 7]

Two Matchweek 7 fixtures in the MEIJI YASUDA J1 LEAGUE were played on 11 September.

Kobe took the lead at home to Kashima in the 56th minute when Yuya Osako converted a penalty after a goalless first half. Kashima equalised in the 73rd minute, but Tetsushi Yamakawa struck the winner four minutes later to seal a 2-1 victory and make it four wins in a row. Kashima, meanwhile, suffered their third straight defeat.

Kashiwa fell two goals behind away to Kyoto in the first half, but Tojiro Kubo pulled one back in the 59th minute before substitute Yusuke Segawa equalised in the 67th. Segawa struck again four minutes later to complete a 3-2 comeback victory. The win ended Kashiwa’s two-match losing run, while Kyoto suffered their second straight defeat.
