Biking Around Naha, Okinawa With No Real Plan
Come along with me for a very chill and random day exploring Naha, Okinawa.
No real plan today — I just hopped on a bicycle and rode around the city, stopping by Tomari Port to have a look around before heading toward Omoromachi. I did a little souvenir shopping, stopped for coffee, and eventually found myself having a Cuban sandwich from a food truck for lunch.
The best part? Eating it up on a rooftop overlooking the city.
Sometimes these simple, unplanned days end up being some of my favorite days while traveling. Hope you enjoy hanging out with me around Naha!

I hope you have a lovely weekend.
This was such a very chill video and I am glad you had a nice relaxing time, especially in an area that brings you calm.
Thank you for taking us along and thank you even more for being so open and having the courage to talk about not feeling good. So many people are living with mental health conditions, but not so many share it openly. Your last video was very touching and I hope your mother is feeling better. My deepest gratitude for all the wonders of travelling and daily living that you share. Hope you had a good journey back home and am looking forward to new food adventures! All the best.
I'd like to thank Youtube algorithm for showing me this video, which I truly liked and enjoyed
He likes busy world fast pace you like calmness like me lol 😊
Oh that looks like a good Cuban! I miss getting them super cheap when I lived in Orlando- also bc it's mainland US they are giant lol. Here in Ecuador places will say they have Cubans- but while they aren't bad, they aren't actually like Cuban sandwiches. I'm glad you had a great day!
Looks lovely, really nice seeing parts of Naha you wouldn’t normally see. I know it’s cliche but would also love to see more of the ocean parts. Hope you had a lovely trip. Take care of yourself. Love from the UK.
Wow it looks so beautiful there.Jealous of that chai latte 🥰 Hope you are ok Shinichi, thankyou again for putting out great content, it is keeping me going whilst I'm going through redundancy in my career. Thankyou for bringing so much sunshine. Square breathing can help a little bit with panic attacks, try this, sending well wishes you are doing great

Can you do a vs video like Okinawa Vs Guam. Or Guam Vs Hawaii of Okinawa vs Hawaii
Maybe the solo trip did you good. You need time by yourself to wonder around. Sometimes, getting lost is blessing. You see something unexpected. The other is finding a quiet place to be. There used to be restaurant in downtown called the Quiet Corner that I would frequent just get away from the noise.
I didn't keep a gratitude journal but I would add in weekly planner. Besides my plans for the day or the day's events, I would atleast 3 or 4 good things that happen that day. If you stop writing it down, then you no longer need to. Don't feel guilty about it. I just keep a planner now for memory purposes.
I know exactly what you mean with Okinawa being a safe and relaxing destination. Do make the most of it.
Hello from Miami, FL. Glad to watch all your cool okinawa videos, sooo cool to see how much it's changed throughout the years. I love all the different types of foods you can eat. The beaches look amazing. Please tell shatoshi I love all his cooking videos.
I also started to make a "10 positive things of the day" list to remind myself of the many positive things that sometimes happen unnoticed. Our brains are so used to mostly focus on the negative that we have to remind en train ourselves to see the light. Stay strong!
Thank you for taking us along this no plan at Naha! I would be very interested in seeing a video about things you are grateful for whilst doing them, that sounds so fun!
What a nice ride. One thing about some of the meds that take care of anxiety, in fact a few meds, they lower your heat tolerance. I'm so glad that you are taking care of yourself. Relaxing and self care are so important.
Hi Shinichi,
First, thank you for sharing ❤
I think that a thankful video is a good idea, for you and for us.
It's important to be reminded what's important in life ❤️
Having the courage to open up and knowing how you feel and telling us that's a huge milestone into opinion We are always so very thankful for you, yourself and showing us the most amazing places. I appreciate the simple videos so much and support you still and always on your journey! Enjoy all the things that come to life. You are living it well!
I never thought of it before. If you start feeling that way, get on the bike and (fang it), go as fast as you can for as long as you can. Best feeling in the world. I always smile and chuckle after I do that. There is nothing like a bike. Plus if you own one, you can customize it to really make it your own.😊
No one understands panic attacks and fear of panic attacks unless you have had them. It is wonderful that you are opening up about this. Every video I watch I wish the best for you.
I'm glad you enjoyed your visit to Okinawa, Shinichi! Life is short, doing everything you can that makes you happy.
I love Cuban sandwiches and that one looked great!
Thank you Shinichi.
Thank you for sharing part of your day with us. You did so well once you felt a panic attack coming on. Sometimes, we just need a mental break, and you talked through it with us. Some of my greatest adventures were found when I got lost 🙂 I'm glad you got a few days away in a place you enjoy. It would be lovely to see/hear what you are grateful for. Much love, sweet friend. 🙏🏻💗
It's funny… I was born in Kansas but I've never said Kansas was home. We left there before I ever formed any memories. We moved to Okinawa! I have some fun memories of living there as a small child. Then we spent some time in Hawaii. My dad was in the military, if you didn't guess. 😅 We moved often! I didn't really know what "home" was other than where ever my stuff currently was. When I finally met my future husband, he moved for the first time in his life from his home state of New Jersey up to Massachusetts to be near me and to gain some independence for the first time. I didn't understand why it was so hard for him. After a few years, he convinced me to move to New Jersey. I've been here for over 30 years now! It was only recently that I asked him if I've been here long enough to call myself a Jersey girl. 😂 Here's an even funnier thing. This isn't "home" either. Looking back over my life, Hawaii is where I felt the most at home. People like me. A slower pace of life. More laid back. I love my husband's extended family. His dad was from Hawaii originally from a family with 6 brothers. Loads of cousins! You can throw a rock on Maui and hit a Yanagi. Honolulu too. 😂😂 He knows I want to retire there. Seeing Okinawa again through your travels I wonder if there would be a more affordable alternative. ❤ I have a lot of medical issues and mental health struggles too. Anxiety and panic disorder. CPTSD. I'm a mess. I really want to be somewhere that fills me with peace. Seeing you in Okinawa doing a soul recharge and regaining your peace is a really good thing. ❤
