Sheraton Miyako Hotel Osaka Offers Autumn “Night Wa Sweets” Japanese Afternoon Tea

Sheraton Miyako Hotel Osaka will offer an autumn version of its “Night Wa Sweets: Japanese Afternoon Tea” for weekday dinner hours only, from September 1 through October 31.

The welcome drink is a Japanese-style cassis soda. Sweets include persimmon mochi, sweet potato, candied lemon-simmered satsuma sweet potato, matcha roll cake, candied roasted chestnuts, matcha ink-marbling mizu yokan jelly, chestnut burr-inspired pie, apple pâte de fruit, Mont Blanc, Osaka Castle-shaped monaka wafer filled with sweet red bean paste and cream cheese, egg miso macarons with dried apple, kinako roasted soybean flour and matcha warabi mochi, zenzai sweet red bean soup, and salted kelp. The selection also features the rabbit-shaped “Tsukimi Usagi” to evoke Japan’s moon-viewing tradition, as well as “Coconut Jelly and Amazake” and “Cassis Yokan” topped with fruits such as Shine Muscat grapes and Pione grapes. Savory items include four varieties of temaki sushi hand rolls, including smoked salmon and salmon roe, prosciutto and fig, beef and maitake mushroom, and persimmon and scallop. Drinks include matcha and jasmine tea.

The afternoon tea is served at Uemachi, the Japanese restaurant on the third floor, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The price is 8,000 yen per person, including tax and service charge. Reservations are required at least three days in advance, and availability is limited to 20 guests per day.
