Tonight, we went to a popular Japanese sumibiyaki restaurant in Barcelona, to try the prime A5 Japanese beef menu. This restaurant is famous for tasting the best beef grill and Japanese Sukiyaki hotpot.
We ordered the luxury beef menu for 2 persons, and it contains 15 dishes. In the menu, we got a small shot of Japanese apricot sake. It tastes slightly sour and sweet, you can smell the strong fruity flavour. Personally, I really like this drink.
First, we got 2 appetizers: the boiled green soy beans, and the fried chicken dumplings. The soy bean is really juicy, unlike other boiled soy beans, this restaurant put bigger pieces of sea salt on top of the dish, but it doesn’t taste over salty at all. The fried dumpling is so fresh and crispy! It has a golden brownish color, it already looks tasty. There are some yellow bean sprouts and deep-fried spices on top of the dumpling. The chicken inside the dumpling taste really juicy and fresh. The outside of the dumpling is well fried, super crispy and the taste goes well with the soy bean sauce.
Next, we got three more one-bite dishes. First one is potato cream with fish roe and dry ham. The white cream is so rich and tasty. You can’t believe it is made of potato. The ham flavor well mixed with the cream potato. The only thing that disappointed me was that I could not really taste the fish roe. The ham flavor is a bit too strong and special. The second one-biter is the round radish ball with seaweed as topping. The radish taste really fresh, cold and crunchy. The homemade fruity sauce for this dish goes quite well with the radish. The radish itself is sweet, and the sauce gives it more fruity and honey taste. The final small bite dish is sliced beef pieces. The beef was marinated in special sweet honey sauce for 24 hours. You felt like every cell of the beef contains the rich sauce flavor. I really love this dish, and because its cold, it could cool down you a bit in the hot dinner room.
Later, we got our grill shelf set upped. The waiter put the Japanese sukiyaki hotpot on the grill shelf and brought us two more dishes. One is the daily sashimi plate. Today’s special is tuna sashimi. It goes together with three dipping sauce: wasabi, chili sauce, and sea salt. Personally, I love the wasabi the most. The tuna sashimi is superb and fresh. The second dish we got is rice soup with egg yolk and some vegetables like carrots and bean sprouts. I love the egg with creamy yolk, it is the best comfort dish in the cold winter! The soup is not that rich, but clear and tasty. It made you immediately warmed up after eating.
After the sukiyaki soup got boiled, we had three more meaty dishes coming: Japanese beef rump, thick skirt and high back. The beef rump is for sukiyaki. And the other two are for grill. You only need to put the beef rump in the hotpot for 6 seconds, then you can enjoy the juicy, soft and tender meat! The soup in the sukiyaki is sweet and strong. Unlike other salty or spicy hotpot. But the sweet taste goes so well with the sliced beef rump. We also tried the grilled beef skirt and high back. They were both amazing! One was slightly more tender and soft, while the other one contained more fat and oil in the meat.
The best thing comes the last. The final main dish we had is the A5 Japanese beef prime cut from Ozaki. That pinkie meat is just gorgeous! It has pretty colours, nice fatty texture, and attractive smell after grilled. The meat is too soft and rich. You can not even feel it melt in your mouth, it will disappear once it touches your tongue. That’s how amazing the best A5Japanese beef it!
After dinner, we got two more desserts in the menu. One looks like yellow orange shape, it tastes creamy, sour and fruity. The second dessert contains some cream, sesame candy, walnut chocolate and chopped apple pieces. The candy and chocolate is super crunchy, but it is a little too sweet for me.
