Chiba, Japan: What I Found Just Beyond Tokyo

Chiba City, Japan surprised me with a calmer side of urban Japan just beyond Tokyo. In this solo travel day, I explore Inohana Park, see the castle-style Chiba City Folk Museum, try a local burger, ride the suspended Chiba Urban Monorail, go 130 metres up Chiba Port Tower, and finish beside the waterfront at sunset.

The monorail day ticket was ¥600, Chiba Port Tower admission was ¥420, and the burger set was almost ¥2,000 during my visit in August 2025. Prices, opening hours, and ticket conditions may change.
