A magnitude 6.2 earthquake struck Japan’s Hokkaido region on Sunday, the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre said.
The quake was at a depth of 46km (28.58 miles), the centre said.
There are no reports yet of casualties or damage.
The quake came less than a day after a 5.8-magnitude earthquake hit central Japan.
