This time, I drove along the Niigata Prefecture section of National Route 405 (spanning from Tsunan Town to Joetsu City), a route affectionately known as the “Terraced Rice Field Highway.” As the recording session was quite long, I will be releasing the footage in two parts.

The first video covers the stretch from Tsunan Town to the Oshima Ward of Joetsu City. After passing JR Tsunan Station, the road enters a series of narrow sections where passing oncoming vehicles is difficult. True to the “Terraced Rice Field Highway” nickname, the route runs through an area boasting one of the highest concentrations of terraced rice fields in Japan.
