I headed south from Katsura train station to discover what the area was like. I was generally headed towards the Katsura Campus of Kyoto University, but somewhere i missed a turning and ended up further south than i had planned. From there I continued along the main road, looking to join back up with the train line. The mixture of residential zones with farmland and allotments was good to see, all with a backdrop of the mountains in the distance.
