Enjoy a summer evening at an eco-friendly illumination experience at the Southeast Botanical Garden.
The sprawling park is only a 10-minute drive from Kadena AB’s Gate 3 and is home to nearly 1,300 kinds of trees and plants. Visitors can enjoy walking among the Alexandra Palm, baobab trees, dragon’s blood tree, flying monkey tree fern, lotus and many more varieties there.
In the winter and spring, the botanical garden is also a popular attraction thanks to its annual Nangoku Illumination. This year, however, you don’t have to wait until winter as the garden is hosting “Nangoku ECO Lights Summer.”
The park is keeping the illumination eco-friendly by limiting the number of lights and using LED lights due to their low electricity consumption.
Expect a dreamy, mystic mood as you escape the summer heat to the evening illumination at the Southeast Botanical Garden!
