Myojin ike Pond is actually made of 2 ponds and requires 300 yen to enter, totally worth it given the beauty it displays on a sunny day with the picturesque Shinto Ceremony red boats. This landscape must look stunning in winter too when the trees are covered in delicate โ๏ธwhite frost however the whole village is closed until spring! Btw you can not get here by car! Kamikochi is a resort where you get to through mountain tunnels and only buses and lorries are allowed through so you would depend on a tour bus! However there are such busses from Shinjuku station early morning and by noon you can already eat ๐apple pie๐ฅง in Kamikochi, just search on Willer Express! Best is to stay over 2-3 nights and walk through forests and explore all the lakes and mountain trails on a good weather.
