Japan’s Most Beautiful Hot Spring Town— A Walk Through Hakone 4K
Most people pass through Hakone-Yumoto
on their way somewhere else.
We stayed.
In this walk, we follow the Hayakawa River
through the heart of Hakone’s oldest hot spring town —
past steaming river banks, quiet backstreets,
a hidden temple path, and a sacred waterfall shrine
that most visitors never find.
This is the Hakone that doesn’t make it
into the travel guides.

Thank you for walking through Hakone-Yumoto with us 🙏
Most visitors pass through on their way to the ropeway or Lake Ashinoko —
but Hakone-Yumoto itself has a quieter, older story to tell.
Hidden backstreets, a road once walked by samurai,
a sacred waterfall shrine tucked into the hillside,
and the slow rhythm of a hot spring town
that hasn't forgotten what it is.
We hope this walk gave you a different way
to see Hakone.
📅 Correction: This walk was filmed on August 8th, not August 9th
as previously stated. Apologies for the error.
