Hiroshima has been on my bucket list for years—not because of what happened there alone, but because of how the city rebuilt itself. Standing at the epicentre of the atomic bombing gave me a completely different perspective on Hiroshima’s resilience and the people who call it home.

Hiroshima now is a full on bustling little city, great food and shops. Found a whole apartment on Airbnb for ~$70 aud a day. Of course see the peace monument in town, but you can also get a ferry to Itsukushima island, full of shrines and sacred places. Hiroshima is beautiful and absolutely worth visiting.
