    That hotel has such an amazing view, which to me makes it well suited for all seasons.
    The facilities and staff also looked top-notch.

    Out of curiousity, would you happen to know if there are some nice (guided) hikes in the area year-round?

    Would love to possibly see an episode, or episodes, taking place in winter showing Onsens that are maybe adjacent or nearby to places where one can ⛷️🏂. Unfortunately haven’t gotten to ⛷️ 🇯🇵 just yet.

    Akakura Kanko hotel is beautiful, especially the view (it must even better in winter). The dinner you had also looked amazing. Your french pronunciation is not bad by the way (did you have french at school ?) and "sardines séchées" are "dried sardines".

    It is not for me however. I spend 4 weeks per year in Japan. In that time, especially when I stay in a ryokan, I want to enjoy kaiseki meals. And I am glad if the room has tatami mats, futons and shoji screens. Also, I like traditional but not luxurious. I am happy if I dont have to "dress up" for dinner ;-).

    Those private onsens are amazing. And off season this hotel looks so affordable. This definitely put Myoko and Niigata on the list of my next Japan trip.

    The luxury of that free flowing rōtenburo. Amazing. The only danger is I might jump in that water feature afterwards as a cold plunge. 😂 I'm sure it's not permitted 😅.

    Maybe a bit too luxurious for my wallet, but what a view 😩. As someone who knows nothing of French, sounded about right to me. I miss seeing you pop up on NHK, any new travel docs in the works for them?
