Diljit Dosanjh has a special connection with Japan. The musician-turned-actor had plans to leave his old life behind and permanently shift his base to Japan. So, it is not a surprise that the Land of the Rising Sun was where he decided to travel to before he headed to Europe to start his Aura World Tour.
When in Tokyo, Japan, Diljit Dosanjh thoroughly enjoyed himself, frolicking around the city. He shared a short Reel to Instagram that he titled “JATT IN JAPAN”. The singer was seen eating his way through Japan, sipping on coffee, and enjoying the local culture.
In a previous interview, Diljit Dosanjh shares that during a phase when he was in a dark place, he had decided to move to Japan. He revealed that he had found a place in Japan where he considered living independently for as long as he could manage his daily needs. He said, “Then I saw a place in Japan. I said, I will live there. As long as I can take care of myself. As long as I can take care of myself. It’s a very good thing. Otherwise, let’s see what else I can do,” he added.
The 43-year-old first visited 7-11, a quintessential stop for many tourists who are visiting the Asian country. It is a Japanese inexpensive convenience store chain that provides a lot of food and drink options. It sells ready-to-eat foods along with ramen, boiled eggs, roasted sweet potatoes, onigiri, kimbap and more.
In fact, it has become so popular among tourists and Japanese people alike that it has inspired a trend on social media. People usually visit these stores just to try out their unique drink combinations, including banana or strawberry milk with coffee, blueberry soda, pomegranate fresh, and more.
Diljit Dosanjh is also seen eating an onigiri. It is a popular Japanese fast food that can be eaten on-the-go. It is best recognised for its triangular shape. An onigiri is made mainly of rice and is wrapped in crispy or soft nori, aka seaweed. It can also be shaped into a ball or cylinder. The onigiri is stuffed with tuna, salmon, vegetables, pickled Japanese plum, and more.
Diljit Dosanjh was seen enjoying copious amounts of coffee throughout his visit. He had a Biscoff coffee with what looked like a caramel drizzle.
The singer was also very titillated by the fact that he spotted many Japanese men out and about, running errands, or at work, with a puffer jacket that had a built-in fan.
This innovative fashion accessory was first introduced in Japan 3 years ago. It is called a fan-jakketo, and it is primarily worn by people who work outside. It has twin electric fans installed around the lower back, and the jacket keeps the wearer cool throughout the hot and humid summers of Japan.
