🏯 Shizuoka City — Walk in the Shogun’s Footsteps Fans of SHOGUN on Disney+, this one’s for you! Sumpu Castle Park is steps from Shizuoka Station — where Shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu spent one-third of his life. The turret houses a fascinating museum, and inside the park you’ll find a beautiful Japanese garden and a traditional tea house serving authentic kyusu-brewed green tea. The Shizuoka City Museum of History is right next door too — don’t skip it!

🏯 Kakegawa — Japan’s Most Authentic Wooden Castle One Shinkansen stop away, Kakegawa Castle will blow you away. Japan’s reconstructed wooden castle keep. Beyond the stunning main keep, there’s an art museum, a tea house, and a beautifully preserved palace. Block out at least 2–3 hours here!

🌹 Hamamatsu Flower Park — A Garden for Every Season From Hamamatsu Station, take the number 1 bus for about 45 minutes to Hamamatsu Flower Park. In mid-May, the roses are absolutely spectacular — and there’s something beautiful blooming here every season. 🌸🌹

🚡 Kanzanji Area — Lake Views & Temple Vibes
From Hamamatsu Flower Park, jump back on the same bus (No.1) and get off at Hamanako PalPal — just another 10 minutes down the road! Ride Japan’s only lake ropeway for breathtaking aerial views over Lake Hamana. 🔔 At Kanzanji, draw a unique eel-shaped omikuji fortune and ring the temple bell for good luck. From the Ropeway area to Kanzanji Temple, it takes about a 15-minute walk.
