Great Food & A Slower Pace | Fukuoka, Japan
After two weeks travelling across Japan, Chris and I reached our final stop: Fukuoka.
Known for its famous Yatai street food stalls, rich Tonkotsu ramen, fresh seafood and relaxed atmosphere, Fukuoka was a great place to relax as our Japan adventure came to a close. They still have historic temples, castle ruins and a chilled park, but to me it came across as more peaceful place compared to the other major cities on this trip.
If you’re looking for a Japanese city that offers fantastic food without quite the same pace as Tokyo, Kyoto or Osaka, Fukuoka might be just what you’re after.

Good evening everyone!
We were knackered by the time we arrived in Fukuoka, and that lack of energy is certainly on show here – not that that's necessarily a bad thing, it's just different.
After almost 2 weeks of travelling and coming straight off of riding the Shimanami Kaido (the 2 half of which was on the same day we got to Fukuoka!), we deserved to take things a bit slower!
My main takeaway from this city was the food – the Ramen rivalled what we had in Japan, and the Sushi was the best of the entire trip. Which city do you think has the best food overall in Japan?
