GODZILLA & HELLO KITTY in one tour!

“Hello Kitty Island” is also “Godzilla Island”! Awaji Island is what we’re talking about as it is also known as “Godzilla Island” because it’s the first place Godzilla appeared back in 1954. We tour the Godzilla Museum also known as the “Godzilla Interception Operation Awaji” where we get up close and personal to this giant lizard. If you are a fan of Godzilla, Mothra and others from Saturday morning television, then you’ll love this theme park in the Nigen no mori theme park.

Then we tour the soft and cuddly, Hello Kitty Surprise resort center with highlights of the Hello Kitty Shinkansen followed by a lunch stop at Awaji Chefs Garden sitting on the water of Osaka Bay. Awaji Island is located just off the cost of Kobe and Osaka making it a very easy day trip from Kobe or Osaka. Best of all, it is not overcrowded with tourists because the only way on to the island is by car or bus. Driving over the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge is a thrill and we cover it in depth in our special bridge tour video: https://youtu.be/-foberKYxyA

We are John and Josephine Haynes with 165 years of continuous family heritage in Japan dating to 1861 and we take you to the less crowded, off the beaten path places of Japan that most visitors never see. Be sure to check out our other videos on unique places you won’t find elsewhere.

  1. That view is gorgeous, and absolutely love the concept!! The content is much appreciated. Also interesting that the cafe is by Pasona. If it's the same staffing company, I was once interviewing for a position there years and years ago!
