Eihei-ji Temple, located deep within the mountains of Fukui Prefecture in Japan’s Hokuriku region, is the home of “Zen” and thus appropriately filled with a solemn atmosphere. Even today, when you visit this temple, you’ll find around 200 monks devoting themselves in strict practice to Zen ascetics.
