Walk in Matsumoto Castle 🏯 | Japan’s National Treasure & Black Castle (Nagano)

Welcome to Travel Japan – Wakamatsuya!

I am a Japanese travel enthusiast sharing beautiful destinations and hidden gems across Japan, speaking in English for global travelers.

In this video, I explored Matsumoto Castle in Nagano Prefecture.

Matsumoto Castle is one of Japan’s National Treasures and the oldest surviving castle in the country, famous for its striking black exterior that earned it the nickname “Crow Castle.”

I walked around the moat, crossed the iconic red bridge, explored the castle tower from the inside, and enjoyed the breathtaking views of the Japanese Alps in the background.

If you are planning a trip to Japan, Matsumoto Castle is a must-visit destination just 2.5 hours from Tokyo by train.
