Hejini Says Japan Trips Always Bring "Bad Luck"... On Parenting Two Kids, She Admits, "It Was the Hardest Ever"

[Sportschosun reporter Jung Yoo-na] YouTuber Hejini shared a real-life parenting travel story after running into a series of unexpected hurdles on a trip to Japan with her two children.

On the 20th, a video titled “Why does this keep happening? Four consecutive bouts of bad luck every time I come to Japan” was uploaded to Hejini’s YouTube channel.

In the video, Hejini visited Tomamu in Hokkaido, Japan, with her husband, her son Seung-yu, and her daughter Chae-yu. But the trip was not easy from the start. When her luggage was unexpectedly flagged during inspection, Hejini looked flustered and said, “I never get stopped on normal days, but I got stopped today.” She then laughed off the chaos of parenting, saying, “There is a super poop machine in our house.”

Even after arriving, she stayed busy caring for the two children. Her 11-month-old son Seung-yu, who has just started walking, kept moving nonstop and kept his parents on edge, while her daughter Chae-yu clearly showed her own preferences and adorable stubbornness. Hejini said, “Having two kids means it really takes half a day just to get ready and leave,” describing the realities of parenting.

Still, the family made special memories in Tomamu’s natural surroundings by interacting with animals and enjoying the pool. In particular, Chae-yu’s attempts at various hands-on activities and Seung-yu’s cute behavior brought smiles and added warmth to the video.

In the video’s description, Hejini also opened up, saying, “I already knew from our Miyakojima Island trip that traveling abroad with two kids is not easy, but the combination of 11-month-old Seung-yu, who has become very strong-willed, and sensitive, moody Chae-yu was truly… beyond anything I could have imagined. From the very beginning, why does this kind of bad luck always start whenever we go to Japan? It feels like some kind of trap card has been activated, and now I’m just completely speechless.”

Meanwhile, Hejini married in 2018. After welcoming her first daughter in 2023, she gave birth to her second son last year.
