Kamakura Day Trip from Tokyo. A Calm Route Without the Crowds.

Kamakura Mini Guidebook: https://tokyoken.gumroad.com/l/kamakura-travel-book
Kamakura is one of the easiest day trips from Tokyo. It is also one of the most crowded, the most confusing to get around, and the most tiring if you plan it wrong.
So I spent a day walking it the way I would walk it with a friend. Quietly, and without rushing. This video is about three things that usually go wrong in Kamakura, and how to avoid each one. The crowds. The getting around. And the part where your legs give up before the view does.
We finish at Enoshima, which is the most beautiful and the most tiring part of the day. I will be honest about both.
If you are planning your own trip, I made a full guide with five walking routes and GPS maps. The quiet routes, the ones that are easy to ruin by posting them everywhere, live only in the guide.

Where I visited in the video:
– Sasuke Inari Shrine
– Zeniarai Benten
– Pacific Drive Inn
– Enoshima Sea Candle

  1. Thank you Kenchan. It's nice to know how to avoid crowds. Certainly a challenge in Japan.
Planning ahead, what will be YOUR "wish" for Tanabata? (^.-)

  2. Thank you for watching! I made my first ebook, the Kamakura mini guide. https://tokyoken.gumroad.com/l/kamakura-travel-book
A note. It's included in Patreon members. The file gets updated whenever I find new places or make improvements, so you always get the latest version. It also comes with a coupon for my upcoming Day Trip Guide ebook, which will include part of the Kamakura book. If this is not for you, no worries. I have five Kamakura videos on the channel, so please check the others too. Thank you again. 🙂

  3. Thank you Kengo-san for sharing lesser know places in Kamakura with us. The Sasuke Inari shrine looks so beautiful and peaceful.

P.S. I have purchased your Kamakura mini guide. Thank you for making this very good guide.

  4. Thanks for the map highlighting all the places in Kamakura. It helps put places in perspective.
