Heading to Miyazaki, Japan on the overnight ferry “Takachiho” for just one reason: authentic chicken nanban.

  1. I'm always fascinated biy by the giant folding ramps on these ships. To me they look like something straight out of a transformer movie.

  2. I think you are a major supporter of Japan's rice industry. I can't get chicken nanban where I live. Tried it at a Japanese restaurant in France, and it was like American fried chicken. I'll have to go to Japan to get some decent naban

  3. Honestly, if I spoke any Japanese at all I would have sorted out a visa and jumped on an airplane to move to Japan. The place is clean, orderly, civilised, cultured, historical. Please defend your language and culture.

May all your Kamis bless and protect you, and your Yokais kick the butts of those that come to you with bad intentions.

  4. Very nice voyage. All of the food looked delicious. I have a question: is Japanese tartar sauce like American tartar sauce, which we normally just pu on fish?
Looking forward to your next video!

  5. Sailing from the land of Beef to the land of Chicken! BTW, the buffet looks so damn good as I am prepping chicken fried rice… I am hungry and a bite of ice cream will tickle the appetite.

  6. Does anyone ever suddenly walk around a corner and catch you just standing there, silently, at 3am, getting the very important video of the microwave? haha =) Thank you for your awesome videos. Cheers from Canada, eh.

  7. Good job STJ, beautiful ferry ride and you got your Chicken Nanban! Awesome video 👍🏻👏🏻😊 Looked delicious 😋

  8. Think I’ve done more vicarious travel — and dining — with STJ than any other YouTuber ever, and I’ve been around here for almost 20 years. I hope to take one of these ferry trips myself before I die. Hope to experience some of those “!!’s” for myself!

  9. I would love to visit Japan, but when I checked my finances, the best vacation I can afford is camping in my own back yard.
Thank you for always sharing your travels with us 🙂

  10. From the video title I thought you meant one dish *on the ship*, and I thought to myself, "that must be some exquisite curry at the ferry restaurant".

  11. I've never had tartar sauce on chicken. I make very good tartar sauce and I have battered chicken breast cutlets. I'll have to try it. I usually put sweet and sour chili sauce on it. Thanks for the trip🎉

  12. That's wasted of money Resume is the size of a prison cell and the dinner all you can eat but you never go for all you can eat but it looks clean the room

  13. I love your videos and almost ever comment on them. Most of the time I get a heart from you, thank you. But you never comment, on any comment, which I find a bit dissapointing. English is not your first language, so that might be the reason. But its not my first language either (german and french are), so thats not really an excuse. It would be really nice and interesting to read your reactions to comments.

  14. I want to try chawanmushi. It looks like something I'd enjoy. I have a question – is eating with chopsticks considered bad etiquette? I'm fairly proficient, but I'm left-handed, so I've always wondered.

  15. I was just thinking of rewatching a previous video and low and behold he puts a new one out there.

  16. That chicken naban looks really good! And took think the only place that serves Chicken Naban in my area is at Shiki Sai in Epcot!😅

  17. That shot of the city with the sunset was gorgeous. $92 seems like a good value for a room like that and I'm happy you eventually got some coffee and chicken nanban. Excellent video as always, safe travels STJ, wish you all the best!

  18. That Chicken Nanban looks really delicious…I also love the scenery whether he is walking or on the ferry. Japan is a beautiful country. Thank you again STJ for showing us the beauty of Japan and all of the yummy dishes they offer

  19. Rather be there than where I am. I can watch the Wolmido ferry from my penthouse café in Incheon, but I'll never get on it. I'm supposed to be walking too, but I gave up on this trip after just 4 days. Now I just walk to the other cafes and the 7-11 for food; and wait for my flight. I will be docking in Yokohama in late September… On a 14-day ferry from Vancouver. The train will go straight to Hachioji. Piece of cake, or should I say piece of STJ's favourite dessert?
