The Deeper I Went | Solo Motorcycle Journey
A solo motorcycle travel documentary film through Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan — riding alone into a place I thought I already understood.
This chapter of Project 47 became one of the biggest surprises of the journey so far. What began as another ride west across Japan slowly turned into something deeper: remote coastal roads, brutal heat, sea camps, island crossings, long empty stretches, unexpected encounters, and a side of Nagasaki I never expected to find.
Like most people, I thought I knew Nagasaki before I arrived. But the further I rode, the more that idea started to fall apart.
This was not about checking places off a map. It was about following the road alone through a prefecture shaped by coastline, history, weather, isolation, and quiet moments that changed how I saw the journey.
There were hot days, remote roads, fishing villages, sea air, strange roadside stops, and the weight of history in the city itself. But the real story was the ride — one motorcycle, one rider, and the feeling of moving deeper into a place that kept revealing more than I expected.
This is not a Nagasaki travel guide. It is a solo motorcycle journey through Japan — the road, the heat, the coast, the history, the silence, and the reality of crossing a prefecture alone on two wheels.
ABOUT PROJECT 47:
Project 47 is a long-form solo motorcycle travel documentary series riding through all 47 prefectures of Japan.
One rider.
One motorcycle.
One prefecture at a time.
This series focuses on the road, the weather, the unexpected places, the people met along the way, and the experience of moving through Japan one ride at a time.

Boy do I love this documentary series of a solo journey riding a motorcycle. Definitely some amazing sights in this video, and I still love seeing the triumph.

ライドスルーという事は、47都道府県が終わったら、世界も行きますね。ワクワク
This is great! Been watching Joe Ryan videos for the authenticity and now I have found another great documentary series that shows me parts of the world I can only dream of exploring someday. Thank you! Subbed 👍

Great journey, can’t wait to binge the earlier episodes!
49c !! That's like death valley hot I had to fact check it . Google said the hottest temperature recorded in Japan was 41.8c in 2005 . F up roadstrom how would you know you don't live there.😂👋🇦🇺🦘
Watching the previous episodes again, I can still feel that the GB350S is indeed a very nimble motorcycle (I definitely want to go to Honda Dream to test ride it after I decide to move).
So cool, what a journey
