While the cherry blossoms in Tokyo and Kyoto have already finished for the season, Northern Japan is just getting started. We are currently at Hirosaki Castle in Aomori, where over 2,600 trees have created this incredible “white tunnel” effect.
If you are in Japan between April 20th and April 27th, you need to get to the Tohoku region ASAP. In a few days, these petals will fall and create the famous “Hana-ikada” (flower rafts), covering the entire castle moat in pink and white! 🏯
Location: Hirosaki Park, Aomori Prefecture, Japan 🇯🇵
Travel Tip: Take the Shinkansen (Bullet Train) from Tokyo to Shin-Aomori (approx. 3 hours) and catch a local train to Hirosaki.
