A new hospitality concept will bring an intimate dining experience and private members lounge to the former Oscar’s location, 84 N. High St.

The Kyoto-inspired omakase experience and private members lounge, NomaEN, will open soon in Historic Dublin.

The concept is being developed by entrepreneur Josh Weprin and Master Chef Taishi Noma. It will feature a large omakase counter alongside The Den, a private lounge designed to offer a personal hospitality experience centered around conversation, culture, and connection.

The concept is planned for 84 N. High St., the former home of Oscar’s of Dublin, within a mixed-use redevelopment currently underway in the heart of Historic Dublin.

“This is an exciting milestone for the project as we continue a comprehensive redevelopment of the property,” said Sheree Sauline of Stage Capital Partners. “Landing NomaEN is a strong endorsement of both the location and our vision. We look forward to introducing a new chapter at the site that builds on its history while delivering a fresh, elevated experience.”

Weprin doubled down on this sentiment as well.

“What drew us to Historic Dublin was the sense of place,” He said. “The walkability, the charm of Historic Dublin’s streets, and the strong sense of community all reminded us of the qualities that make Kyoto so special. We wanted to become part of a neighborhood that already values connection, gathering, and local hospitality.”

Chef Taishi Noma, a third-generation restaurateur from Kyoto, Japan, brings more than four decades of experience in traditional Japanese cuisine to the new restaurant. Many Central Ohio diners were first introduced to his work through Haiku, which opened in 1999 and helped shape the region’s early appreciation for sushi and contemporary Japanese cuisine.

The space is being designed by Japanese architect Kento Ohmori, principal of FUKUI ARCHITECTS. According to the team, the design draws inspiration from traditional Japanese homes, Kyoto hospitality spaces, and contemporary craftsmanship, emphasizing natural materials, thoughtful craftsmanship, and a sense of warmth and restraint.

Construction on the redevelopment is currently underway, with NomaEN expected to open in 2027.

Prior to opening, the team plans to host a series of private preview dining experiences starting this summer (including one hosted by 614 Media Group), offering guests an opportunity to experience Chef Noma’s cuisine and learn more about the concept ahead of its debut.
