We took the bus from Tokyo to Gotemba Premium Outlets — one of Japan’s largest outlet malls — to find out if the outlet discounts were actually worth the trip, and whether those famous Mt Fuji views really deliver in real life. After a tempura soba lunch, a round of genuine outlet shopping (some brands were 50–80% off), and a private Fuji-view onsen we’d booked for the afternoon, we had our answer.
