James Lowe has confirmed he will leave the province at the end of the season after nine successful years with Leinster.
The 33-year-old is expected to continue his career in Japan after announcing his departure in an emotional message to supporters.
Since arriving from New Zealand in 2017, Lowe has become one of Leinster’s most influential players, scoring 71 tries in 101 appearances and helping the province to multiple domestic titles and a Champions Cup crown.
The Ireland international earned 45 caps after qualifying through residency and played a key role in two Six Nations-winning campaigns.
Lowe’s final game for Leinster could come in next week’s URC final against the Bulls at Croke Park.
