MOL Techno-Trade, a marine fuel and trading company of the MOL Group, has completed the first LNG bunkering of an international cruise ship in Hokkaido, Japan.
The company, working with Hokkaido Gas, supplied LNG to Luminara, a cruise ship operated by the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, at Wakamatsu Pier in the Port of Hakodate on May 16, the firm said in a recent social media post.
The operation was carried out using the truck-to-ship method and marks the first LNG supply to an international cruise vessel in Hokkaido, according to the companies.
MOL Techno-Trade said the latest bunkering builds on its previous LNG supply operations in Nagasaki, Beppu and Hakata, expanding its track record in Japan’s LNG bunkering market.
The company added that it plans to continue expanding its LNG bunkering business.
