I Found a Secret Waterfall in a Japanese City (Hamamatsu)
I didn’t expect to find this in a city.
Tucked inside Hamamatsu Castle Park โ past the
garden paths and the ancient cedar rest house โ
there’s a waterfall that almost no tourist ever sees.
Moss-covered rocks worn smooth by centuries of water.
A still pool that mirrors the green canopy above.
Light filtering through Japanese maple leaves.
The sound of falling water where there should be
traffic noise.
This is Hamamatsu. ๐ฟ
A city most people fly past on the Shinkansen
between Tokyo and Kyoto. A city that, the more
you explore it, the more it gives back.
The castle. The views. The park. The garden.
The rest house. And now this.
“A city I want to see again.”
That feeling hit before I’d even left.
