OSAKA (TR) – Police launched an investigation after a 47-year-old woman was found dead inside her home in Tondabayashi City on Friday with a blood-stained knife nearby.

Just hours after her husband and young son were discovered dead at a separate location, reports TV Asahi (June 6).

Shortly before 7:00 p.m., police officers discovered the body of Aiko Okuda inside her residence. A kitchen knife covered in what appeared to be blood was found in the room.

The discovery came roughly two hours after her husband, 47-year-old Junji, and their 10-year-old son, Ibuki, were found collapsed on the grounds of a condominium complex in the same city.

Both were transported to a hospital, where they were later pronounced dead.

Investigators were led to the family residence, located approximately two kilometers away, after finding identification cards left at the condominium.

Police are currently investigating the sequence of events that led to the deaths of the three family members.
