We were just in Japan for a visit 2 weeks ago. We made a bad mistake on our bullet train tickets from Osaka to Tokyo. We bought our tickets on the bullet train 3 days before. We got to the Osaka train station with 40 mins to spare before our Bullet train left to go to Tokyo. We found our plat form for the bullet train early and waited at plate form 32. 40 mins past and no train, looking at our tickets to make sure we were at the right plat form. Something wasn't right, we ask a worker if we were at the right plat form and he said NO, it was changed to plat form 26(our tickets had the wrong plat form number). We ran over to the plat form 26 but had missed our reserved bullet train. We had to catch the next bullet train to Tokyo and had to go back to cars 1 and 2 where the seats weren't reserved. My wife and granddaughter got a seat but I didn't. I had to stand up almost all the way to Tokyo. Always read the station board or ask if you are at the right plat form for your train.
