Mitsui Ocean Cruises has opened bookings for 27 new sailings in its 2027 season.

Spanning Feb. through Sept. 2027, these 5- to 12-night itineraries showcase Japan’s landscapes, traditions and regional diversity. An early-booking offer of up to $1,000 in onboard credit is available on all cruises booked by Sept. 30, 2026. The new voyages are aboard Mitsui Ocean Fuji and Mitsui Ocean Sakura.

Exploring Japan’s Ports

Ports of call include stops at Nanao on the Noto Peninsula. A UNESCO-recognized agricultural heritage area, Nanao is known for its blend of traditional farming, fishing and natural landscapes.

Shodoshima serves as the main maritime gateway to Shodoshima Island, connecting visitors and cargo to a destination renowned for its olive cultivation, traditional soy sauce brewing and scenic landscapes in the Seto Inland Sea.

Tanegashima is a key transportation and logistics hub for the island, supporting local industry and tourism while providing access to Japan’s primary space launch facility at the Tanegashima Space Center. Tottori is best known for the Tottori Sand Dunes, Japan’s largest dune system. 

New Itineraries Coincide with Seasonal Events

A sampling of the new 2027 itineraries includes several voyages timed to coincide with some of Japan’s most celebrated seasonal events. Aboard Mitsui Ocean Fuji, travelers can book the 6-night Spring Gardens of Japan & Korea sailing from April 5-11, 2027, which journeys from Kobe to Yokohama with calls in Busan, Hososhima and Shingu. 

Meanwhile, Mitsui Ocean Sakura will offer a 6-night Sapporo Snow Festival itinerary from Feb. 9-15, 2027, sailing round-trip from Yokohama with calls in Tomakomai, Sendai and Oarai, allowing guests to experience one of Japan’s most famous winter events.
