Viking is capitalising on the huge demand in travel for Japan, introducing a new 15-day voyage for 2028 that includes a circumnavigation of Japan and touches the Korean Peninsula. Cruising roundtrip from Tokyo, the voyage crosses the Sea of Japan to the southeast of South Korea, visiting Busan.
Sailing aboard Viking Nepture, the Japan Discovery includes nine guided tours and a number of new ports in Japan for the brand. Calls include Niigata, Hakata (Fukuoka), Sapporo and Shimizu – “distinctive cultural enclaves that reveal the country’s spiritual and architectural heritage,” the cruise line says.
“Experience the refined world of geisha arts during an overnight stay in Tokyo, Japan’s dynamic capital, where modernity and tradition remain closely intertwined,” Viking says online of the new cruise.
