Hands announced on May 25 that its flagship store, Hands Shibuya, will close in November following the expiration of its lease agreement.
Located behind Shibuya PARCO in Udagawacho, the large-scale store spans approximately 5,494 square meters and carries around 100,000 items, including household goods, DIY products, stationery, and craft supplies.
Hands said the signature “exciting shopping experience” cultivated at the Shibuya store will continue through existing and future locations.
The store first opened on September 9, 1978, and has operated for nearly 48 years. The final business day will be announced at a later date.
Hands became a subsidiary of home improvement retailer Cainz in 2022 after separating from Tokyu Fudosan Holdings, later changing its name from Tokyu Hands to Hands.
