In this 4K walking tour, we explore the grand architecture around Nagaoka Station and its remarkably large, impressive covered arcade. As the prefecture’s second-largest city—globally famous for its spectacular fireworks festival—Nagaoka carries a solid, resilient presence.

Rebuilt with a unique sense of order after devastating damages in both the Boshin War and WWII air raids, walking these quiet, suburban-shifted streets after dark offers a poignant reflection on history, accompanied by the steady echo of my new sneakers.
