Drinking Tea in the Village at a 97-Year-Old Lady’s House (Izena Island Tea Culture)

Izena Island in Okinawa has a culture of laying out tea and sweets at the entrance of the house. This tea is then offered to people passing by to make a sense of community.

I was lucky enough to have some lovely ladies in the village offer me tea. The people of Okinawa are famously long-lived and has the highest concentration of centenarians in the world.

Alo Japan.
