OKINAWA – With military spouse unemployment far outpacing the national average, the Army & Air Force Exchange Service is reinforcing its commitment to hiring Veterans and military spouses.
With 68,000 Veterans and military spouses hired since 2013, the Exchange remains a vital force multiplier—offering meaningful careers that bring financial stability to military families and strengthen force readiness, retention and lethality.
The Okinawa Exchange has openings for roving store worker, laborers, stockers and customer service positions.
“Veterans and military spouses are a driving force at the Exchange,” said Okinawa Exchange General Manager Thea Sarver. “Their dedication, resilience and experience power our mission and help us take care of the military community.”
When Veterans join the Exchange as full-time associates, their military service time can be used toward their Exchange retirement benefit.
For military spouses, the Associate Transfer Program allows military spouses to continue their Exchange career as they move from duty station to duty station with their military service members, which is key to maintaining financial security and force retention.
The Exchange continues to receive industry recognition for its commitment to providing meaningful opportunities for Veterans and military spouses. Accolades include:
Gold Military Friendly® Employers and Military Spouse Friendly® Employers by Viqtory media.
Best for Vets Employer by Military Times.
Top Veteran-Friendly Employer, by U.S. Veterans Magazine in the Top Government and Law Enforcement Agencies category.
Top Milspouse Employer by U.S. Veterans Magazine in its inaugural survey.
