If you are going to Hokkaido, do not skip Jingisukan! Also known as Genghis Khan, this grilled lamb dish is served in many restaurants in Hokkaido. While we were in Hakodate, we went to Iidaya, a small restaurant ran by a husband and wife team. The quality of the lamb here was amazing; every cut was so juicy and tender. I was surprised too that the lamb here is a lot less gamey compared to lamb that I have eaten elsewhere. My husband said this was his favorite meal from this Japan trip. ⁣
