IGA, Mie — About 700 Ninja motorcycles made by Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. gathered from across Japan on Monday at an event in Iga, Mie Prefecture, a city known for its ninja heritage.
The seventh annual event takes place on Greenery Day, in honor of Kawasaki’s signature lime green color. It was held in the city hall’s parking lot for the first time.
“I’ve been riding motorcycles for two years and I started riding Ninja a year ago,” said NOMA, a female influencer from Utsunomiya who served as the event’s MC. “I really like Iga. It’s such a peaceful city.”
Monday’s event, joined by enthusiasts, included a custom motorcycle contest, a lottery as well as an appeal for donations for afforestation activities.
“A ninja’s mission is to return safely,” said the representative of the organizing committee. “[Kawasaki’s] Ninja motorcycles live up to the name, offering a safe and enjoyable ride.”
