What I didn’t realize at the time, though, is that the Suica app is available in English. You can link it to your Apple Wallet, top up funds directly, and tap your phone just like the locals. It’s not only used for trains and buses, but you can also apply the contactless payment method for taxis and to make purchases at some shops and convenience stores.
