HOKKAIDO (TR) – Police in Sapporo City have arrested a 46-year-old mother on suspicion of murder after her 6-year-old son was found strangled to death at their home, reports Kyodo News (May 5).
Yukimine Kamii, a self-styled part-time worker residing in Teine Ward, is currently denying the allegations. “I did not kill my son,” she told investigators.
Kamii is accused of murdering her first-grade son, Yuto, by compressing his neck sometime between 6:30 a.m. and 7:50 p.m. on monday.
Despite her current denial, police revealed a chilling contradiction. According to the Teine Police Station, Kamii initially made the emergency 110 call herself, telling the dispatcher, “My child is dead. I killed him.”
Officers rushing to the residence found the young boy in a state of cardiopulmonary arrest. He was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators believe the mother and son were the only two people inside the home at the time of the incident. Police are now investigating the exact circumstances and timeline leading up to the boy’s death.
