Limited express trains (extra fee required) stop at JR Awa-Kominato Station.
They depart from JR Tokyo Station every day, and from JR Shinjuku Station on weekends. However, as I mentioned in the narration, Kominato is a small town, so public transportation is quite limited.
To visit the places we went to today, renting a car at Katsuura Station or Kamogawa Station is also a good option.
If you do, there is a parking lot near Tanjoji Temple, so you can park there and explore the area on foot.
