JAPAN’s Hidden Gem Islands | Day Trip from Takamatsu, Shikoku
I spent a full day island hopping from Takamatsu. Join me on a peaceful journey to Megijima and Ogijima, two hidden gems in the Seto Inland Sea. If you’re looking to escape the crowds of Tokyo or Kyoto, these “art islands” offer a glimpse into a quiet, authentic side of Japan that most tourists never see.

Red light house❤
Marugame
Hotel gave a free udong every evening 😊
The sound of the waves, nature. It's very calming Kengo San. 👍
Ogijima island looked very picturesque from the ferry. It’s really nice how it’s built up on the side of the hill like that, forming small walking paths.

Thanks!
Hi Kenchan.
Thanks for showing us the beautiful and peaceful islands of Japan.
We love Japan and Japanese people, culture and food. ❤
Good job 👍. Keep it up.
God bless you!
Thank you for this beautiful video Kengo-san. I wish to visit Shikoku next March, so I am grateful for all information I can get about it. Have you also been to Shodoshima ? I really wish to visit there and stay there for 2 nights, but I am a bit worried about visiting the island without being able to rent a car. Can we see most places by using the bus or walking ?
Nice use of music on this one!
Thank you for showing us these charming islands Ken san, a part of Japan so many of us would never get to see!
Megijima is super quiet but I like those remote places (as you know now haha). Always perfect combination with nature. Thank you very much for showing us the best of authentic Japan as always ;)))
Good video, that slowing down and just enjoying the islands on their own with some hiking are really what a lot of us need more of. Instead of train hopping , you get ferry hopping instead!
We’re going to be here in three weeks, so watching your video with great interest. Depending on weather, we may go to these islands. Thank you for the preview, Ken-San!
Very nice video Kenchan! My favourite part of this is Ogijima Island.. The scenery looks beautiful and calming. Thank you for showing these hidden gems to us
I enjoy this trip. We see the less known destination. You walked a lot in this video! 😅
Thanks as always for making these videos Kengo-San. I haven't really explored that part of the Seto Sea, mainly the parts near Imabari and Hiroshima, so it is great to see these other areas.
It definitely inspires me to explore more around Shikoku.
If you ever get a chance to explore around Matsuyama/Ozu areas of Ehime I would love to see it – such a stunning area.
Thank you for your hard work, these videos are not easy to make. I also really enjoyed the sleeper train video you made of going to Takamatsu.
On a sunny day it would look even amazing
I love setouchi. My favourite part of Japan.
