The Ministry of Information announced that the State of Kuwait’s pavilion at Expo Osaka 2025 has achieved a significant international milestone, securing two prestigious awards at the globally renowned iF Design Award.
Presented annually in Germany since 1954, the iF Design Awards recognize excellence in innovation, design quality, user experience, and sustainability.
Salem Al-Wotayan, Assistant Undersecretary for Support Services at the Ministry and Commissioner General of Kuwait’s pavilion at Expo Osaka, stated that the pavilion was honored in two key categories, reflecting a seamless integration of architectural design and narrative content.
The pavilion received its first award in the Exhibition Interior Architecture category, which highlights excellence in spatial design, visitor interaction, and the overall flow of the visitor journey.
The second award was granted in the Media Content and Storytelling category, recognizing the strength of the pavilion’s narrative and its ability to engage audiences through immersive communication.
Al-Wotayan noted that the dual recognition underscores the pavilion’s success in translating the concept of “Empowering Life” into a fully interactive experience that merges architectural creativity with impactful storytelling.
He emphasized that this achievement reflects Kuwait’s growing global standing in design and innovation, reinforcing its presence among leading participants at Expo Osaka 2025. The recognition also enhances Kuwait’s image in media, marketing, and international engagement.
Al-Wotayan expressed pride in the accomplishment, describing it as the result of coordinated national efforts that combined local expertise with global best practices.
He added that the pavilion was designed to present Kuwait’s story, its heritage, present progress, and future ambitions, through an immersive experience that places visitors at the center.
He concluded that the awards further strengthen Kuwait’s position on the global stage, highlighting its effective use of design, media, and advanced technologies to communicate its vision to the world in a compelling and innovative way.
