Hakodate is a special city, it feels like it could just be swept away by the sea in an instant. I will never forget the rooftop Onsen of our Hotel, overlooking the Port, you could see all the lights at night. I don't know your schedule, but aren't you rushing it a bit if you arrive and leave by train on the same day? Taking the time to walk around the city and seeing more than just the obvious tourist landmarks always made my experiences in Japan special.
