I didn’t know that Kaibutsu by Yoasobi was an anime song
Honestly I’ve always loved a song called RIN by singer ASCA, I’ve known this song since I was a kid, I have no idea where I heard it. Just a few years ago I discovered it’s the opening for an anime called Record of Grancrest War… never even heard of it before then but oh well
So many that I couldn’t count but I’m more surprised at drama songs.
I usually have a feeling when a song is from anime but I have zero idea about drama theme songs. I find the biggest hits are usually the drama songs.
I discovered Tatsuya Kitani around 5ish ago and the first song of his I heard was called “When the Weak Go Marching In.” It’s showed up in my YouTube recommendations and I liked it so much I ended up going through much of his discography and loving it.
A year ir so later, me and some of my buddies are going through random anime on 9anime and we get to this one show and I hear this exact song playing in the opening. I was BAFFLED.
My first favorite JPOP song was Flow X Grandrodea – Seven. I was so proud to find an original JP song that i didnt find with an anime ahahah.
Turns out it was Seven Deadly sins ending.
But it happen to me quite often. Usually when i like an OP, i give a listen to the other stuff the artist did. Then, you start building a playlist and get recommendation. Thats how i found Creepy Nuts and the anime Call of the night recently
mela! by ryokuoushoku sekai. MHA has never been my type of anime but this song has been in my rotation for yeaaaaaaaars
Upside Down by Denki Groove surprised me, tbh, but the anime they used it in seems pretty obscure.
All of them. I listen to jpop all the time, but haven’t watched anime in years.
Groovin Magic by ROUND TABLE, I legit thought their only songs in anime were “Let Me Be With You” & “PUZZLE”, turns out basically every song that featured Nino was in an anime
Sharp by Negoto. One of my favourite songs and it turns out it’s from Gundam AGE. Even my friends that are big Gundam fans haven’t seen it.
