Osaki Osor Saitama of Japan’s men’s handball won a valuable victory after a slugfest, occupying the advantage of advancing to the playoffs.

Osaki Oskar defeated Alamos Osaka 39-37 in the 21st round of the Japanese handball league H in the 2025-2026 season at Isle Arena Wing Hat Kasukabe in Kasukabe, Saitama Prefecture, Japan on the 11th.

With this victory, Osaki Osor recorded 12 wins, two draws and seven losses (26 points) in the season, firmly maintaining his fifth place in the league. He added valuable points in the playoff ticket competition, which is given up to sixth place, further increasing his chances of advancing to the postseason. On the other hand, Alamos Osaka, whose winning streak was cut, ranked 10th with five wins, two draws and 14 losses (12 points).

Osaki Osor showed an even scoring distribution that did not depend on a specific player. While Takumi Sueoka scored the most points in the team with six goals, Mayu Kamisatsu (5 goals), Hiroshi Matsuoka, Keisuke Matsuura, and Takuma Anpei (four goals) scored in each crisis. In addition, two goalkeepers combined for a total of 14 saves, seven saves each, setting the stage for victory in defense.

Alamos Osaka kept Osaki Osor’s bloodshed throughout the game, with Riku Maeda scoring 13 goals, the most by both teams. Tokuda Renosuke (7 goals) and Shimizu Yusho (6 goals) also added firepower, and goalkeeper Sejuro Tono responded with seven saves, but it was not enough to prevent the team’s defeat.

Alamos Osaka led early in the game. Alamos, who opened with Maeda Riku’s first goal, shook off Osaki’s counterattack to take an 8-6 lead. But Osaki Osor was also not easy. It was tied 10-10 with consecutive goals by Takumi Sueoka after the middle.

At the end of the first half, Alamos again ran to 15-12 due to the performances of Yusho Shimizu and others, but Osaki’s “Block Defense” began at 23:30 in the first half. While keeping the opponent’s attack scoreless, Osaki tied Naoki Nishiyama’s back-to-back goals and scored four goals to turn the game around 17-16. In the end, Alamos Maeda Riku’s comeback goal ended the first half tied the score at 17–17.

Alamos scored his first goal shortly after the start of the second half, but he went scoreless for the next six minutes. Osaki Osor, who did not miss this opportunity, scored six consecutive goals, widening the gap to 23-18.

After the middle, there was a competition of pride between the two teams. Hiroshi Matsuoka led the attack with four goals, and Yusho Shimizu countered with six goals for Alamos.

As Alamos chased again 32-29, Osaki scored five goals in a row amid the performance of Mayu Kamisatsu, and seemed to take the lead with a 37-30 run. However, with four minutes left before the end of the game, Alamos Osaka showed a scary concentration with seven goals to follow. However, there was not enough time to turn the tide, and the game ended with Osaki Osor’s 39-37 victory.
