More details are coming to light about a man suspected of abandoning his son’s body in western Japan. Investigative sources say he may have deleted some dashcam footage to conceal his movements.
Police arrested Adachi Yuuki, 37, on Thursday. The body of his 11-year-old son, Yuki, was found on Monday in a wooded area of Nantan City, Kyoto Prefecture.
The father reportedly admitted to abandoning the body during police questioning. He initially told police that his son went missing after dropping the boy off at school on March 23.
The sources say police have checked his car’s dashcam footage. They have confirmed he drove near the school that morning, but footage in subsequent periods is missing.
Police plan to search the car for more information.
