Stronger setlist, tighter crowd connection than Nagoya. Unexpected closer with Around the Bend and a heavy Masters of War.

After Nagoya, Eddie Vedder stepped it up. At Osaka Festival Hall on April 16, 2026, the Pearl Jam frontman delivered a tighter, more dynamic show, with a stronger connection to the crowd.
The opening locked in the tone right away: Trouble and Wildflowers set a quiet, intimate mood. The first half stayed focused, with Dead Man, Elderly Woman… and Just Breathe, while Society and Guaranteed leaned into the stripped-down vibe.
The covers hit right: The Needle and the Damage Done and Picture in a Frame didn’t feel like fillers—they fit naturally into the flow.
The shift came in the second half. Corduroy, Better Man and Porch brought the energy up, and the Osaka crowd was fully in it, singing along and feeding off every moment.
Between Better Man and Long Way, Vedder slowed things down. He said: Josh Klinghoffer gave me the book Earthlings because of my album title. I had no idea what I was getting into. Then added: It’s incredible. And so are the other books by Sayaka Murata. Spotting someone connected to the English translation, he said: Make sure she gets this, signing a copy and sending it into the crowd.
The ending is where the show really separates itself.
Masters of War hits hard—raw, tense, openly political—followed by Hard Sun keeping the momentum going.
Then comes the curveball.
Vedder closes with Around the Bend. Not loud, not explosive—just quiet and haunting. The room goes still. It’s a different kind of ending, and it lands.
Osaka clearly tops Nagoya: better flow, stronger crowd interaction, and more standout moments. This is where the tour really locks in.
